A big helping for those in need will be part of the menu during the first annual Turkey Drive Dinner Dance at Silo Ridge Country Club on Nov. 10.

For $16, there will be turkey carving stations, a pasta station, appetizers and complementary wine and draft beer from 6 to 7 p.m.

All the money collected will be donated to the food drive to benefit residents of the Harlem Valley.

"It will help pay to bring Thanksgiving meals to those in need around the area," said Rob Canis, general manager at Silo Ridge County Club. "I'm very excited about participating in this event. "

Canis said he became involved after speaking to Linda Gregory from Jack's Auto Body.

"We discussed the dinner and about having us host it at the country club," he said. "There are going to be various food stations throughout the night with turkey and lots of appetizers. "

There was originally a food drive held in the town to collect turkeys and other food that was distributed to the needy in the Harlem Valley, but this is the first year the dinner has been held.

With a few weeks left until the dinner, there has already been a huge response to the event with many people signing up to participate.

"Right now we have 200 people signed up, so we think there will be close to 300 people attending," said Canis. "There is going to be lots of music and dancing as well. "

There will also be raffle tickets for sale with various prizes given out throughout the night. Patrons must be present to purchase raffle tickets.

The event is sponsored by Silo Ridge, Jack's Auto Service and Joey D's DJ Service.
